I'm Jeannine, an American with an avid interest in art, design, décor, and just about all things French.
My love of France began in seventh grade when my homeroom teacher mistook me for an exchange student because of my name. She taught French and insisted I learn the language. Eventually, I lived, worked, and studied in France – first doing a semester abroad, then teaching international business communications at the University of Lille, and later studying fine and decorative French art history at Christie’s in Paris. Over those many years, I immersed myself in French culture, history, and art de vivre.
When I returned to Chicago, I missed many aspects of the everyday life that I had come to know and love. I sought ways to incorporate a French lifestyle into my daily routine and began sharing tips on everything from home décor and my favorite recipes to where to find the most authentic French products and experiences in my hometown of Chicago.
For more than 20 years, I rented a small apartment in my beloved neighborhood of Passy. It was quintessentially Parisian, my home away from home, and my dream come true.
When I'm not working or traveling, you'll find me hanging out with family and friends, listening to good music, or enjoying a glass of Champagne.
