Another Paris Postcard is here, filled with the city’s seasonal rhythms, artistic discoveries, and small pleasures that make Paris unforgettable.
Paris Fashion Week is in full swing. The city is alive with creativity, glamour, and cutting-edge style. Designers, editors, and fashion lovers fill historic venues and café terraces alike, unveiling the trends that will shape the seasons ahead. From elegant runways to spontaneous street style, the city feels especially electric this week.
In other news…Art lovers can begin the week with the Jean-Marie Rossi exhibition at Sotheby’s, on view through March 11. Rossi was a world-renowned collector and gallery owner. I have vivid memories of time at his Paris gallery during my year at Christie’s. This exhibition offers an intimate encounter with contemporary artistry. Visiting the auction house feels both elegant and slightly behind-the-scenes—a glimpse into the world where collectors, curators, and creativity meet. So much fun!
On Friday evening, March 7, Paris steps into history with the 4th Gala Evening and Ball of the Two Empires, held at the majestic InterContinental Paris Le Grand (6:00 p.m.–12:30 a.m.). Organized in support of the Fondation Eugène Napoléon, this charitable celebration honors the 200th anniversary of Empress Eugénie and the 250th anniversary of American independence. With formal attire, period-inspired elegance, and a spirit of generosity, the evening promises grandeur, romance, and historical resonance.
And throughout the year, culture lovers should remember that the Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection offers free evening admission on the first Saturday of each month. These late openings are a wonderful opportunity to experience contemporary masterpieces beneath the museum’s soaring dome—unhurried, atmospheric, and distinctly Parisian.
From refined exhibitions and imperial-era celebrations to open museum doors after dark, this early March week offers a perfect blend of elegance, culture, and accessibility. It’s Paris at its most timeless—gracious, creative, and endlessly inspiring.
