La Rentrée: The Next Chapter for Jeannine Bergeron

Welcome to September—or, as the French call this time of year, la rentrée.

I’m delighted to be back after a summer sabbatical that took me to Paris and Provence, where I spent a couple of weeks soaking up the beauty and joie de vivre of France. If you follow me on Instagram @jeanninebergeron, no doubt you were along for the adventure every step of the way.

Just as its name implies, la rentrée marks a return to the rhythm of everyday life after the slower, more leisurely days of summer. It’s a time when work, school, and familiar routines begin again, and the pace of life picks up. September has always been one of my favorite months in Paris—the city feels especially alive, and you begin to sense the subtle shift from summer to fall.

Change is in the Air

In keeping with the spirit of la rentrée, which often feels like a time of renewal and a fresh start, I’ve made a few changes of my own.

After 18 years of French Style, I’m moving beyond the blog and sharing additional resources to help you make the most of your travels. To that end, I’ve created a new landing page where you can easily explore The Paris Guide, personalized travel planning, and a Paris apartment rental.

And with a new site comes a new name. French Style has always been my alter ego, so it feels only natural that the site should now bear my name. Thus, French Style is now Jeannine Bergeron.

What You Know and Love

The name and look may be new, but what I share with you remains just as it has been from the beginning. Since 2008, I’ve been Bringing Everyday France Into Your Everyday Life—no matter where you live, and that idea will continue to guide this site. The blog remains the place to find the French art de vivre you’ve come to know and love, along with cultural insights, traditions, stories, inspiration, discoveries, and the everyday pleasures that make France so endlessly fascinating.

You’ll still find the travel inspiration you’ve come to expect, too—from hotels and restaurants to enchanting destinations and, of course, The Paris Postcard. Likewise, France in Chicago will continue to inspire you to seek out a touch of France in your own hometown.

In other words, the things you’ve come to know and love aren’t going anywhere. There’s simply more to explore.
