For the fashionistas, the Worth: The Birth of Haute Couture exhibition is a must-see. Opening on May 7 at the Petit Palais, this retrospective honors Charles Frederick Worth, the British couturier often credited as the father of haute couture.
Thursday, May 8, 2025, is Victory in Europe Day (Jour de la Victoire en Europe), a significant national holiday commemorating the end of World War II in Europe. The main commemorative events take place at the Arc de Triomphe where French President leads a solemn ceremony, which includes laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, rekindling the eternal flame, a symbol of remembrance, and military honors by the Garde républicaine.
Celebrate the art of French baking at the plaza in front of Notre-Dame Cathedral during the Fête du Pain, which runs through May 11. This event honors Saint-Honoré, patron saint of bakers and pastry chefs, and offers a great opportunity to sample some of France’s famously delicious freshly baked breads. baguettes, and pastries.
I loved peeking inside this 18th century Parisian home featured in Tatler magazine. The home is full of beautiful colors, stunning antiques, and sophisticated style. Bravo Lichelle Silvestry!
The Opera Bastille is offering a great selection of Italian operas throughout May. If you’re a fan of Puccini and Verdi—like me—you’re in luck. Performances include Il Trittico and Rigoletto. Book your tickets on the official site here.
