Brand Spotlight: DEGRENNE

I am so excited to write about this brand. Not only does the company have a fascinating history, but it also exemplifies elegant design and quality craftsmanship.
Degrenne was founded in 1948 by its namesake Guy Degrenne. Guy was a visionary entrepreneur and passionate goldsmith who used recovered armor from tanks left on the beaches of Normandy to make stamping dies for stainless steel cutlery.
Since then, the company has introduced exceptionally beautiful new pieces in porcelain, ceramic, and glass. Today, Degrenne has become a trusted brand in private homes and fine restaurants around the world.
If you know anything about Degrenne, you’re probably familiar with the iconic Salam teapot. Salam is an Arabic word that literally means “peace.” Aptly named, the classic teapot exudes a quiet and timeless look – it comprises a porcelain body, a removable filter, insulating felt, and a stainless steel cover. It’s absolutely gorgeous, and it’s been a favorite of tea lovers for decades.
Degrenne regularly launches new collections that are perfect for creating stunning tablescapes. At the moment, I am loving the Salam Or and encourage everyone to browse the website, especially if you’re looking for the perfect addition to your holiday table.

I began my blog in 2008 as a fun and creative outlet to share musings about my time in Paris, the things I love, making the most of your travels, and how to bring everyday France into your everyday life—no matter where you live.

I was just in Paris last week and bought the tea pot for my brother for Christmas. It’s a beautiful iridescent dark green. He kept going back and looking at it but never purchased it. I’m sure he will love using this as much as I love mine.
What a beautiful gift and souvenir of Paris. I agree – he will love it and think of you every time he uses it.
