This is the beautiful apartment I rent in Paris. For more than 15 years, it has been my home away from home. It has everything anyone could want – neutral decor, herringbone hardwood floors, a marble fireplace mantel, southern views overlooking a small park, and lots of light. It was newly updated the year before I began renting it, so the kitchen, WC, and bathroom were brand new.
Over the years, I have come to know concierge, a few neighbors, and the housekeeper quite well. I have my usual bakery, cheese shop, and grocery store. La Grand Épicerie is just around the corner on the Rue de Passy and a few of my favorite restaurants are conveniently located nearby.
It has fantastic access to public transportation. The 52 bus goes directly from La Muette to the Palais Garnier passing by the Arc de Triomphe and the Faubourg St. Honoré. The Trocadero Metro Station is a short walk from my street and the RER is quite literally at the steps of my building.
Moreover, my Parisian friends know exactly where to find me. So, when I invite them for a cocktail lunch, or dinner, they’re familiar with the apartment and its location.
A couple of months ago, the owner called to let me know the apartment is going to be completely renovated again. Not to worry, she is keeping all the beautiful architectural elements we love, but the kitchen, WC, and bathroom will be completely updated. I am very excited about the renovation.
The work is planned for the summer of 2022. So, my Paris visit in the spring will be my last opportunity to experience it as I have always known it. It will be so fun and interesting to see the transformation.

Happy Thanksgiving, Jeannine!
Is this the same apartment where my parents stayed for a few weeks some years ago—on Rue Singer? (Where my mother had her highly unfortunate fall on their way to an evening performance…and she recovered there after several days in the hospital having her broken arm reset?) Or is it some other. Your reverences to Passy and La Muette make me think perhaps it is the same?
We miss Cécile terribly, but Richard is doing exceedingly well at age 97 and we will be celebrating with him en famille in a few hours.

Yes, indeed it is! I absolutely love that apartment and am so happy I will be there one more time before the renovations begin. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. And, of course, my very best wishes to Richard.

You make a reader so much miss Paris.
But Paris is more with someone who knows what to see ..

Wow, this sounds absolutely beautiful and amazing. I am sure the renovations will be spectacular but still be the beautiful apartment you love.
