American Friends of Musee d’Orsay

American Friends of Musee d’Orsay hosted a four-day weekend in Paris on April 23-26. The centerpiece of the trip was a dinner in the Orangerie Museum, where the renowned Monet Water Lilies galleries will soon be renovated thanks to partial funding from AFMO.

US Ambassador Jane Hartley inaugurated the weekend at the American residence with a reception sponsored by the Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris. Le Bristol, Paris and its Michelin starred chef, Eric Frechon, offered another reception at the Orsay where guests toured the Pierre Bonnard: Painting Arcadia exhibition.

Ambassador Dr. Susanne Wasum-Rainer hosted a lunch in the spectacular German residence.  Guests were treated to private events including tours at the Louis Vuitton Foundation, Picasso Museum, Hermès private museum and rooftop garden, and Yves Saint Laurent’s haute couture reserves, workshop and office.

Thank you for all this wonderful information – always such fun to “join” you on these trips. Your photos are incredible. I look forward to when I can travel to Paris. It will definitely be an easy trip for I will know exactly what to see and where to eat.
    Thank you Jeannine
