Spring is in the air and, as warmer weather approaches, I tend to drink white wines rather than red. Sauvignon Blanc is a go-to, and one of my favorite selections is a Pouilly-Fumé from the Loire Valley by Ladoucette.
I first discovered Ladoucette Pouilly-Fumé when I saw it on the menu at Café de Flore, and I was instantly intrigued. This white wine from the Loire Valley quickly became a favorite of mine. Made from Sauvignon Blanc, it’s got that perfect balance of crisp acidity, refreshing citrus notes, and a cool smoky vibe that comes from the region’s flinty soils. It’s one of those wines that feels both elegant and easy to enjoy, making it a perfect choice for sipping while people-watching at a café or pairing with seafood or a fresh goat cheese salad.
Can’t find it in the shops? No worries. Head over to the producer’s boutique at 42, Avenue Victor Hugo.
