Bonjour from the City of Light! Late May in Paris is just magical—the chestnut trees have put on their big show with those gorgeous candle-like blooms, and now petals are drifting down like soft confetti onto the sidewalks and avenues. The first roses are popping open in the parks, the air smells amazing with fresh baguettes straight from the ovens and a hint of summer jasmine starting to waft through, and that beautiful golden evening light hangs around forever these days. Everyone’s out lingering at the cafés a little longer, soaking up this perfect shift from spring into summer. with all this gorgeous late-spring energy buzzing around, here are a few fun things to dive into this week.
On May 24, bubbly lovers are flocking to the Maison de la Mutualité for the annual Terre de Vin Champagne Tasting salon, featuring exceptional cuvées, masterclasses, and tastings from top houses like Bollinger, Taittinger, and Dom Pérignon.
If you’re a beer drinker, you’ll also in luck. The Paris Beer Festival runs through May 25. The event includes tap takeovers, meet-the-brewer sessions, and tastings across bars and venues, wrapping up with the grand finale over the weekend.
The French Open kicked off its qualifying week as players battled for spots in the main draw starting May 25. If you haven’t been to the French Open, tickets to the qualifying rounds are a fun introduction to Roland-Garros and provide a great opportunity to get the “lay of the land” for returning for more advanced play as the tournament progresses.
Jardins, Jardin Opening Days: The popular urban gardening event Jardins, Jardin opened yesterday and runs through May 25 in the Parc de la Villa Windsor (Bois de Boulogne), showcasing innovative garden designs, plant exhibits, workshops, and landscape ideas.
Finally, one of my favorite spring events, Paris Gallery Weekend, takes place this weekend. : From May 23–25, over 70 galleries across Paris opened their doors for free visits, performances, guided tours, and artist meetups, turning the city into a vibrant contemporary art celebration.

The Worth exhibit at the Petit Palais closes in September. My recent post highlights what to expect and why it’s totally worth it.
