I just love the architecture of Place Dauphine. It reminds me so much of Lille, a city in northern France. I lived in Lille for a while and will always have soft spot in my heart for that city. The people, food, and architecture are wonderful and the surrounding landscape in the Pas de Calais region is beautiful. Architectural elements such as the pale red brick and limestone coins are characteristics of Flemish influence and are more commonly found in northern France. One could easily mistake this row of buildings for La Grand Place à Lille.
