The Paris Guide is here! By popular demand—after m The Paris Guide is here! By popular demand—after many requests (and a little encouragement) from family, friends, and readers—I’ve finally brought my Paris recommendations together in one place.

The Paris Guide.
My little black book.

Paris is not just monuments and museums. It’s neighborhoods you come to know, cafés you return to, and small rituals that begin to feel like your own.

After years of traveling to France, living there, and returning again and again, I’ve come to experience Paris as a collection of lived-in places—streets, shops, and corners that shape daily life. This guide is a reflection of that experience.

It’s a carefully curated collection of places I return to and recommend without hesitation—traditional brasseries, classic cafés, time-honored boutiques, and neighborhoods rich in character and that certain je ne sais quoi.

But this is more than a list.

Each section offers context and perspective—so you understand not only where you are, but why it matters.

You’ll also find:
– A thoughtful arrondissement-by-arrondissement structure (focused on the 1st–11th)
– Practical resources on dining, etiquette, transportation, and more
– My essential packing guide, refined over years of travel

This guide is for those who:
– Prefer thoughtful travel over rushed itineraries
– Value cultural understanding over checklists
– Seek trusted recommendations over endless searching

The Paris Guide is a 34-page digital download, now available for an introductory price of $25.

If you’re planning a trip, dreaming of one, or returning to a city you love, I invite you to explore Paris with confidence—and intention.

To order:
Send $25 via Venmo to @jeannine-bergeron
Include your email in the notes so I can send your guide (typically within a few hours)

Paris is a moveable feast.
This is how to savor it.

Bonjour, I’m Jeannine. For anyone new here, I wan Bonjour, I’m Jeannine.

For anyone new here, I wanted to properly introduce myself.

I’m an American with a long-standing love of France—shaped over many years of living, working, and studying there. What began as a seventh-grade French class (thanks to a teacher who insisted I learn the language) became something much more lasting: a life shaped by French culture, history, and the art de vivre.

I studied abroad in France, taught at the University of Lille, and later returned to Paris to study fine and decorative arts at Christie’s. Those experiences—and the many years that followed—allowed me to experience France not as a visitor, but as part of daily life.

For more than 20 years, I returned to a small apartment in Passy—a quiet, quintessentially Parisian neighborhood—living the rhythms of the city until it became something close to a second home.

When I returned to the U.S., I found myself missing the beauty of everyday life in France. I began sharing small ways to bring that sensibility home—from décor and entertaining to simple recipes and favorite sources—initially as a personal outlet, and eventually through what became French Style.

For nearly two decades, French Style has been a space to document the places I love, the details I notice, and the idea that French living isn’t about perfection—it’s about intention.

Today, that has grown to include a Paris Guide of favorite cafés, restaurants, and boutiques, a weekly Paris Postcard sharing what’s happening in the city now, and custom travel planning for Paris and France—designed for those who want to experience it in a more personal, considered way.

At the heart of everything I share is a belief that beauty is found in the everyday, that travel should feel meaningful, and that life—wherever you live—is meant to be savored.

Thank you for being here. I invite you to share your thoughts and follow along here and at www.jeanninebergeron.com for a considered approach to the French art of living.

I’ve recently rediscovered my love for French coun I’ve recently rediscovered my love for French country tableware, especially terre de fer ironstone.

This sturdy, rustic pottery with its creamy glaze brings tremendous warmth and charm to a table. During my recent stay in France, I purchased just two plates in red and cream with a sweet bird motif. The pattern is Favori by Sarreguemines. It was all so beautiful. there was so much more that I could have bought - maybe next time!

PS - I definitely get my love of bird motifs from my mother, who has everything from Herend porcelain to wallpaper and prints featuring birds.

Do you know or own any ironstone pieces?

Tucked away at 18 rue Coquillière, E. Dehillerin h Tucked away at 18 rue Coquillière, E. Dehillerin has been Paris’s go-to for serious cookware since its founding in 1820. With its old wooden shelves and endless array of gadgets, this iconic store even supplied utensils for the Titanic—talk about a historic kitchen connection! Perfect for channeling your inner chef in the City of Light.

Goals vs. Reality I am always inspired by what I Goals vs. Reality

I am always inspired by what I see in France and very often try to replicate it at home. This year, i have three goals:

1. Beautiful potted fuschia geraniums.
2. Perfectly manicured boxwood.
3. Impressive climbing Pierre de Ronsard roses.

Wish me luck!!!
